The real estate lady that we use to buy rental houses, called and said she had some old boards in her garage that I could have just for hauling away. She said they had cut some trees down on their farm and had them sawed and planed.
So what I found were 32 boards most eight to twelve feet long, most one eights and one by sixes, all walnut. A couple weeks ago, the neighbor was cutting down a walnut tree. I asked what he was going to do with the wood, he told to take what I wanted.
Also, last summer the grandson was helping clean out a garage and scored the cypress slabs below.
The logs will probably be put on the lathe, the cypress, a bench or two, and now I don't have any more excuses not to start on that eighteen century secretary with all that walnut.
