This is either a deep platter or a shallow bowl, depending how you look at it. It's fruit cherry from my neighbors orchard. This is the hardest wood to keep from cracking that I've ever worked with. I nursed it through all the dna and bag process with extra time and it still developed a few cracks along the edge. Anyway, it's 12" x 1.5", finish is danish oil and buffed.

Beautiful work Curt! Nice detailing along the rim! This is going to be amazing in a couple of years when that Cherry ages! Nice - real nice!

Curt, that is some beautiful wood, and I like the rim, as well. Nice piece! I have copied that one for the file!

Beautiful piece Curt. I found the same thing with fruit cherry. Sometimes I think it is worse than apple.

Well executed. The beads on the rim really define and frame the bowl section. It's a keeper!!

Beautiful, Curt. I too like the rim detail. It looks like it has a nice thickness to it as well.
