I'm feeling pretty stupid right now...but how do you post a response to someones post that's in the middle of a thread. I only see the Post Response button on the last post in a thread.....but what if I want to respond to sombody in the middle? Am I missing something? Thanks.

Jennifer

Good Morning Jennifer,

Right now that's not possible. You just add to the thread in general. The crew has put the ability to do that on thier list of things to do. The're trying real hard to make the place as comfortable as possible.

Thanks Mike,

I thought maybe I was being really stoopid and didn't get how it worked. Thanks :)

The best you can do is qoute them like I just did. Then reply to them.

THE CREW is doing a phenominal job. I can not believe the attention you are all giving this thing. I think we are all amazed, in awe and very pleased. You guys are awesome.

Thanks Dave,

Do you just cut and paste to quote?

Thanks,

Jen

As the others said Keith & Aaron are working on a threaded listing. This program that they are using does not give that option. However they have done some amazing programming in very short time to try & make it work more like the Pond.

You can check out the "beta" version of this style here - but it is not fully operational. This is really some heavy duty work in the short period of time they've had this up.

I guess for now if you want to answer a particular person in a thread we could put that in the subject line???

Nope on the bottom right side of each reply are two buttons one of them is qoute. Just clcik it and it will set up a reply window with the qoute in it.

The other is edit, which I just tried on this post because I fat fingered some words.

If it clears anything up, the current format of this software is that of a forum. Each topic (thread) goes down a single layer, which is analogous to an Internet chat room, where each person simply adds to the particular conversation.

The best way to clarify the idea of a sub-thread is to use the <b>Quote</b> (<img src="images/quote.gif"> button at the bottom of the person's message, instead of the <b>Post Reply</b> (<img src="images/reply.gif">) button at the bottom and top of the thread listing.

This will do 2 things:

<ol><li>It puts <b>Re: Whatever the topic is</b> in the subject line, and</li>
<li>Places the person's post to which you are responding in a special quote block.</li>
</ol>

Well, Jim....if the truth be known..the only way I know how to record something on my VCR is to stand there until the show comes on that I want to record.......and then hit the record button! I know that's pathetic

But hey, I got the Quote button down! :D
