Hi All

I was wondering if a tenoning jig such as the Delta 34-184 or Grizzly H7583 would work with a Bosch 4100??

If not, can anyone recommend a jig that I can use with this saw?

TIA

George

George,

I bought the Woodcraft version (http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2004847/7500/Tenoning-Jig.aspx) (almost sure it was made by Steel City). Works just fine.

I noticed (as did some others, after I looked on the 'Net) that -- since ours is a left tilt arbor, and will require (easy and quick) modification -- that the face plate on the Woodcraft jig will NOT get all the way flush to the 4100's blade.

There seem to be two solutions to this fix (I can't be sure whether the other jigs have this same problem, but ... if I had to guess ... I'd guess one or more of them does):

1) Drill new holes in the base plate, in order to move the face plate farther over, or

2) Make and use an auxiliary face. There are mounting bolts that facilitate easy installation. Solved my problem with about five minutes' work.

I have a pdf file of a Fine Woodworking review of several of the best-sellers (http://www.finewoodworking.com/ToolGuide/ToolGuidePDF.aspx?id=24115). If you want a copy, PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send it your way....

My saw is left tilt. My jig has a set screw that acts as a stop to allow you to set the maximum position of the plate just shy of the blade (or wherever you want it). This is the Rockler jig that came with Jet/Powermatic instructions packed with it(?).

The set screw/lock-nut near my thumb acts as a stop for the shaft of the locking lever/shaft near my index finger. I never looked but just always figured they all had some feature of this sort.

Thanks guys. Neil, I was able to follow the link and get the PDF from FWW's site. Thanks!

I found this thread because I also have a Bosch 4100 and was looking to purchase a tenoning jig.

Is the issue not really this? http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showpost.php?p=325446&postcount=6

a) I'm a woodworking newbie b) I have no other table saws to compare to .... The above post was comparing left-miter-slot->blade distance on the 4000 to other saws ....... I noticed that on my 4100 the left-miter-slot->blade distance is about 1/4" greater than right-miter-slot->blade distance but maybe all saws are this way?

Adding 1/4" of hardboard to the face isn't hard but since I'm buying from scratch I was wondering if anyone knows of a jig that just works OTB with the 4100?

Thanks!

Pah, ended up ordering the Woodcraft as I've no clue if anything else is any "better" and it was on closeout for $59.
