John, thank you very much for the package. It arrived yesterday but when we got back home from the playground with my grandson it was dark outside and we didn't notice it. Sometimes I think that Donna, the USPS lady, hides things just to make it interesting.

Thanks again for the wood, it's very much appreciated.

Looks like JK may have returned the favor to all from some time back. Payback is a lot of fun in this case. Unique looking piece of wood, looking forward to what it becomes with your expertise.

I don't know about your turning abilities, but, oh what skill you must have to make those wood chips fall in such a neat little pile. Looking forward to seeing what you make of this fine specimen of wood John sent.
By-the-way, what kind is it?

Bill,

It's his extreme skill using his wheat-straw-shaft-broadheaded-floor-gouge-and-scraper that causes that neat pile. He is extremely skilled and just being modest.:rolleyes:

Ken, do you have a live feed from my shop? How did you know what I used?

Spalted maple it is!! Hopefully, there is enough stable wood there with which to make something worthy of mention?!

John, was looking at it a bit ago to see how I want to maximize it. Making one huge bowl just doesn't seem right.

Thanks again.
