Does anyone have any simple instruction to make a compass rose?? I am looking to make an overlay and not an inlay as in marquetry. Any photos would be nice too. Thanks.

Thanks Mike. I copied both of those earlier today and was hoping someone has done one and had a simplier method. If there is one.

Thought I would ask this question here as well. In case Mike Henderson or someone else can help. I was wondering do you think it is possible to make the compass rose as an overlay instead of an inlay??? Will I be forced with wood movement problems because I would be using thicker woods than veneers. If that is not a problem what about mounting it on a solid wood backer, would that add to my problems??? Thanks for any info anyone can add.

If your wood is properly dried, and not exposed to temperature extremes,I don't think there will be a problem.

When I grow up I want to be like Mike. You do some amazing work. There is a lot of info in your head that I want in mine.
