Gesh, I guess I just ought to know better by now, but why do I keep glancing at CL when I know darn good and well that I can't do anything about it?

Go get that thing - gloat of the year, right there...

Too far from Portland, Greg? (your profile does not give location, but yer a Packers Fan!)

A 16" joiner for $200 is probably worth driving 1000 miles (each way) and a night or two in a motel. Just depends on how badly you perceive you need such a Beast! Loading it would be the biggest problem, not the long drive. Us good ol' boys have pickups with receiver hitches (just in case)!

My longest trek for a gloat was to Wichita (just over 300 miles one way) to bring home a nice Makita 2116 resaw. Didn't even need a trailer.

IF I had a way of getting it AND a place to put it.

Darn it.

wow.
that's all I can say about it - I'm with Greg on both the transport and the shop space - I barely have room for my PM 54A

but somebody is going to be very happy indeed.

You could make money on that thing taking to the scraping yard.

Wow, I'd already be on my way except ... I live in Florida :(

It likely has babbet bearings which may need repouring. If it has a square cutter head, that is also a red flag.....sometimes the old iron is a great deal, but you might need to expend some time, energy, and $ to get them up to snuff...I know, I've done it.

Bob, I don't know enough about these old machines to make an informed decision. At $200, it seems like a know brainer, but I've had one too many 'no brainers' back fire on me.

I'll just drool and hope that there is indeed a fatal flaw in the machine, thus helping me avert the "It'll be gone in no time honey" defense.:D

A nice 12" came up while I was out of town for several weeks. I emailed the guy and said I would buy it when I got back if he still had it. I never heard back from him.:(
