Ran home at lunch today and turned onto my road to find this load of lumber in my neighbor's driveway. Cherry. Freshly milled. The large piece on the top-middle was about 28" wide and 8/4 thick. ....
I'm green with envy... :D

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wood.

Pics sure can be deceiving. If I had to guess that center board would be 4/4 and 18 inches wide. So it has not been dried?

Wow... That's some huge wood...

*feels slightly obscene for looking at it*

I will physically measure tonight when i get home. I have 8" hands (length) and it was 3.5 +/- of my hands.

You put your hands on your neighbor's wood? For shame... :D

Your neighbor won't be pleased when he finds out you posted pictures of his wood on the innernet.

Ok. Its 3 hands and a little more, prob another 2-3 inches. And definitely at least 1 3/4 thick, but prob 1 7/8.

He owns a couple of auto shops and sometimes will trade mechanic work for auto work with a sawmill outside of town. I suspect that is the source of the lumber.

I still have no idea where a cherry tree that large would come from around here.... It is absolutely beautiful wood.
