A few weeks ago I posted my first hollow form using my new Monster Rig. Someone asked to see some other pieces from that same ambrosia maple log.

The shiny bowl is 11" in diameter and 3.5" high. It is cored from the larger bowl. The finish ia Antique Oil and buffed. The larger bowl is 14" by 4.5" with a walnut oil finsh.

This wood was actually from a very large limb. You can image how large the tree was if I got a 14" bowl from a limb.

Nice bowls, and some really beautiful wood!! The more I do this, the more I realize it takes the same effort to do a bowl in plain wood as it does quality wood - and the difference is striking.

Love those bowls, especially the smaller one with all the dark wood and the way you did the rim on it, nice ;-))))

If those came from a limb, man that must of been one very large tree. Nice bowls, I like the smaller one the best.
