I built this entirely out of cedar and black walnut I want to apply a durable finish but cant decide what to put on it to last a long time by the way im not sanding it i like it rough looking and also I hand drew the squirrels and deer heads and used a jug saw to cut everything only sanded the burrs of the edges.........any ideas. opinions should haves let me hear you.......al:p

Alvin, hard to tell much from the pics. Looks like it might be pretty neat, but it would be good to have some better pics. Thanks.

I agree the pics are hard to see. My father built a gun rack that is pushing 20 years old right now. He used Deft Clear wood finish and it looks as good today as the day he brought it in from the shop. I would recommend you spend a little time sanding it though. It will look much nicer in the long run.

Appears good but same as above on pics.. cannot really tell much with these old eyes..

black walnut sapwood and dark spots of heartwood with arkansas cedar.....
