I saw these in the most recent catalog from these guys, and it really intrigued me. I'm tempted to buy one to try it out, but I was curious if anyone here had any experience with them? I want to put the smaller tip (3/4” X 3/8” X 1/4”) on the 1/2" shaft swan neck tool.

I've never heard of ceramic used as a turning tip, for metal or wood, but it seems like it could work pretty well. Especially for tools where you have to remove the tip to grind, it seems like a long-wearing ceramic might work well.

I have used ceramic tips turning metal and they worked fine. My only thought would be chipping them it they bumped other toos or the lathe bed. I remember it didn't take a whole lot of rough treatment for them to chip. But then that was 15 years ago and there has been some improvememts I'm sure.
