Here's the latest collaborative vessels in a series of collaborative pieces my friend & I are doing together.
Their both Hickory the 1st one is 13" tall the 2nd one is about 6" tall about 1/8" wall thickness.
Sorry for the poor picture quality on these.

Joe - great form on both of these! Beautiful finish! I am still not 100% sure about acrylic finishes but the additional colors sure seem to work well here!

Nice work! Thanks for sharing!

Interesting work!! Is the finish dyed, then lacquer applied? Looks like the grain in the rest of the piece has picked up some of the color, so was it rubbed out? Just curious of the process.

Nice pieces!

We use a 4 step system to apply our finish. We also use acrylic color, No dye. Yes the color has filled the grain.
Top coat is Varnish, not lacquer though.

Great forms. I personally don't care for the coloring, but the turnings are very nice.

Great pieces I really like the color. They do look a little tippy? How thick is your bottom? Thanks for posting nice work! G

about 1/4" thick bottom.
The Design is what the pieces are about. Not function. They will stand solidly on a shelf or table.

Joe,
Both are awesome. I have always wanted to do that with some Alaskan Birch. Now all I have to do is find the time........lol
