Recently I stripped a small section of an oak hardwood floor (with Circa 1850 furniture stripper). The entire floor had been finished with Waterlox two years ago from the bare wood. After refinishing the section with the same number of coats of Waterlox, I find that the section is slightly lighter in color compared with the rest of the floor. Will Waterlox darken over time and blend in with the rest of the floor?

It should. Waterlox is a phenolic resin/tung oil varnish which will darken. Thickness of the coats will impact color also.
