For some time I have been looking at the Grizzly 1hp spindle and 12" disk sander combination machine model G0529 (http://www.grizzly.com/products/category.aspx?key=550001).

I am wondering if anyone here in the Creek has one of these machines, and what they think about it?

What say you?

I found a used but like new one less than a year ago for a little more than a third of the cost of a new one. I really like it. I had a Ridgid, but with the Grizzly you can sand inside and outside curves without changing anything.

I trued up the disc to run smoother and added dust collection. If I were you I'd go for it,you won't be disappointed:D

Here's mine

Hi Jeff.

Thanks for the glowing endorsement of the G0529.

One final question, must you buy your spindle sandpaper from Grizzly or is it available from other sandpaper vendors.?

Once again thanks for the comments and pictures. You have a nice looking installation.:)

Ken, have you looked at the Ridgid spindle/belt sander?

I had a small disk sander and once I got my Ridgid sander I sold the disk, just didn't use it any more.

For $200 its really hard to beat.

Hi Bill. No I hadn't looked at the Ridgid sander. It does look interesting, and certainly cost effective.
Thanks:)

I have been using the Grizzly G0529 for several years. I love the machine, and buy the spindle paper from Grizzly. You don't go through that much of it and it's reasonably priced.

Love my Ridgid. The oscillating belt sander works great... large table that tilts, dust collection...
