I'm about to glue up my first segmented bowl & would like some input on glues you guys /gals use. I've been a cabinetmaker all my life but am not sure if turnings require different glues than the Titebond & polyurethane glues that I'm accustomed to. I may have some exotics in this blank, i.e. S.A. Rosewood, etc.

Titebond works great. I use Titebond II because I buy it by the gallon for my business and have never had a problem with it on segmented work.

Most segmented turners use Titebond...any flavor. I use Original...mostly so I can do water cleanup after it has dried. It also has a reasonably fast "set" time, so you can continue assembling without waiting a long time for glue to dry. The only downside, is that it introduces moisture into the wood joint, that can take some time to dry and reach equilibrium.

+1 Tb II. When gluing oily exotics many people suggest wiping the surface with acetone immediately before applying the glue.

Thanks guys, it looks like I can stay with my tried & true Titebond II.
