This summer I bought a Delta scroll saw model 46-640. The reason it was for sale was the owner didn't like the upper blade holder. When I got to his house, the blade holder was in pieces. I took him a half hour to get is back together and adjusted to hold the blade.
I was using the saw today and it did take a little effort to insert the blade into the holder. The jaws are not parallel (in the open position) but I was able to get the blade in and out.
I believe this is called a Quick set changer. Is this type of changer worth it? Maybe I just need to by a new Quick set. Would I be better served by replacing the Quick set with a set of jaws that uses a tool?
