Saturday night, DIY had a program on called "Woodturning Techniques". David Hout, who is on the AAW Board, showed how to make a threaded container. He turned the thread with some kind of lathe attachment that advanced the piece into a special cutter wheel. I had never seen anything like that before and had previously thought that threads were cut using a special hand tool. His way looked a lot simpler and a lot easier to reproduce. Anyone know what this thing was and, more importantly, where it can be purchased?

Thanks,

Jack

I saw that show as well. I think that it's a machinists tool that replaces the tailstock on the lathe... Looked like a neat tool, as far as where you can find it, no help there. :( The show looks like they are going to cover how to make a pen and they also showed how to use a chatter tool.

That's it!!!!! Looks like it's designed for a mini-lathe. I wonder if I can get it to work with my Jet 1442. Of course, I can always use an excuse to buy a mni-lathe....

Thanks!!
