I'm working with a few old motors trying to find one that I can retrofit to work with a bandsaw I recently picked up. I have identified a repulsion start induction run motor that I can reverse rotational direction on (it's currently turning the wrong direction), but when I took it apart to check the bearings for wear, etc. (it had been sitting outside in the elements for some time and the lube sumps were completely dry) I found that for some reason the rotor cooling fan is spinning freely on the shaft. It appears to have had a shouldered bushing pressed onto the shaft, followed by the stamped aluminum fan, then a pressed on collar.

I'm having a bit of difficulty setting the collar tighter so that the fan actually rotates with the shaft, so I'm looking for some suggestions.

Could you epoxy the collar to the fan? Not sure how well epoxy would work on aluminum...
