2 minute video -- a mechanical robotic arm all made out of wood.

It gets interesting after the 45 second mark

[Edit] Just came across these at the reddit forum (http://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/apr96/a_wooden_hand_operated_robotic_arm_possibly_the/) (haven't viewed them yet):

If you look at their other vids, they'd made several mechanicals out of wood.

The robot arm, however complex looking, looks reverse engineered off of those old robot arm kids toys that were dual joystick based.

Personally I like the excavator. But as far as complexity, the wooden truck crane is very complex with its selectable ratcheting mechanics.

At work now and youtube is blocked by filters, but is this anything like the "when engineers do woodworking email video"?
