Asked this on a previous thread and did not receive any replies..(waterborne
finishes)

This came about as J. Becker claims he recommends only satin finishes..

My question is if you are going to rub and wax which finish would you
use ..Satin, Semi or Gloss?? Or will it make any difference for any of
these finishes..

What exactly do you mean by "rub & wax"?

Rubbing-out a finish is a series of steps; rubbing wax on a surface would be called buffing.

Umm...I don't "recommend" satin finishes. I just happen to prefer that sheen for my own projects. ;) There's a bit of a difference between those two things! LOL

BTW, consistent with my answer in the other thread, if you're going to rub out to a particular sheen that is less than gloss, start with gloss.

I agree a rubbed out finish should be done a gloss finish. Don't waste your time on the non essential surfaces only do the surfaces that get touched.

No one will ever run up to your beautiful dinning room table; bend down and rub the leg to tell you how beautiful and smooth it is.
