i just got a dado blade set. i have a delta contractor tablesaw i don't have a throat plate. where is the cheapest place to get one? cab i just make one?

Make one... I have a couple I made out of scrap. Just cut it to size, then use one side of your dado set ( because it's 8" ) and raise it up thru to make the initial cut. I've made one I use with a flush trim bit for a template. Works like a charm and it CHEAP..

Use your origional plate as a template... Make a zillion of them. Mark them for size. If you need to raise them to match table size you can use tape or small screws...

Do a Sawmill Creek search on ZCI and you will find a bunch of ways to make them.
They are easy to make but if you don't want to make one you can get the blanks from Rockler or Woodcraft.
