Hard to see in the photo. You should always keep your first then you can compare it with the ones you turn six months from now. Turning pens is kind of like eating potato chips ...... you can't just turn one and quit. welcome to the pen vortex.

Congrats on turning your first pen! Photo is a little dark to see the grain but the form looks pretty good! Looking forward to seeing your next one!

Pen looks pretty good. Photo a little dark. Keep your first to compare a year down the road.

Nice work on a pretty piece of wood. Watch out... those things are addictive.

Welcome to the vortex. First a pen or three then a few small hollow forms. Then the second and third mortgage to get more turning stuff and wood.
Good looking pen.

Eric,

Nice 1st pen, nice soft finish. Kind of reminds me of a victorian woman the way they would cinch up their middle.

Looks better than my first pen. Which I use on a daily basis. Just so I know what needs improving.

Nicer than my first pen. Which I still use on a daily basis, so I can know what needs improving.

Welcome to the vortex. Keep that one for comparison in a year or so. Pen looks good for your first. If you haven't already check out some of the penturning forums. Lots of ideas and inspiration there.
