My local woodturning club had Molly Winton in for a demo back in November. Our January Presiden't Challenge is 'Woodburning' so I got my battery charger woodburner up and running and have some results to post.

'Eddies' - Eucalyptus, 2 1/2" tall. No finish.

'Stingray' - Eucalyptus, 3" tall. Danish oil finish.

Olive Peppermill - 7" mechanism. Danish oil finish.

'Humpty and Dumpty' - Olive and East Indian Rosewood, 1 3/4" and 3" tall. Danish oil finish.

Thanks,
Jason

Jason, that is a really interesting technique!! Love the peppermill, and Humpty Dumpty is my second pick. Nice work!

Cool stuff Jason. Looks like Molly inspired you. Have you seen any of Wally D.'s work? Not sure if he has an album here.

Neat! When I was about 7 or 8 I watched a distant relative take a stick of firewood and turn an acorn on his treadle lathe. He then did that to the top of it. I still have it. Thanks for sharing!

Jason - looks like you paid attention in class - really cool stuff! I can see the possibilities for adding texture to a turning!

Bet the Molly Winton demo was amazing! Thanks for sharing!

Those are smokin' hot:o

I like them all but the mill and humpty/dumpty are my favorites.

Jason,
You've done well with what Molly taught us. I look forward to seeing these turnings in person at next week's meeting.

Jason, Looks like the pyro bug has bitten you! I just ordered a bunch of nichrome wire so I can make some different tips and make my one burner and give it a try. To many things to do right now though.

I like all but the last 2 in the same picture, the curly pattern seems a little to much, maybe a smaller wire and design. The others are nice.
