Just finished watching this and was amazed at some of the safety issues. It's pretty obvious that the push stick hadn't been invented yet:rolleyes: but the really glaring one was when he lowered a sheet of plywood onto the tablesaw blade....pulled it back toward himself:eek: and the pushed it forward to cut a slot....twice!?! If that isn't inviting kickback, I don't know what it takes. Also a few stunts on the RAS that I wouldn't do.

The episode was interesting and reflecting back, the fact that I immediately noticed the safety errors means that Norm has accomplished something after all :)

I have all the episodes and those early ones showed him free-handing a tenon cut against the fence without a jig.

Even Norm learned a great deal over the 20 plus years. Give him credit for practicing safety in the "more mature episodes" -- he still has all ten.

Its fun to watch him use tools that could be found in my shop.
