Just got a little excited... I've been working on this one for about a week now, and waited for the fella that does the engraving to have time to fit me in......

I love Bird's Eye Maple & Ebony.... It's not often a guy gets to put the two together.....

I'll post pictures when it's finished.... but, like I said... "Jumped the Gun a Little"....

So this is what was lurking in the background in your last thread...
She's a beauty. Love the way that ebony and birds eye works together.

This one seems to be on steroids though!
How many cigars will this one hold?

Looks like you are celebrating a job well done in that last pic Ed.
Another great job....

Ed, you are in your element!! I think your creative juices are really flowing, and "getting into character" has to be a plus.

Great job on this one, for sure! Beautiful combination of woods, perfect proportions, and the overall design is coming together like it was meant to be!

I see a future for ya' in this stuff!!

Perhaps you should be known as "Hummy" - the hummidor man!!

Thanks everybody! This one is really a joy to work on. Not often do we craftsmen get to work with wood like this....

John, I don't know if I'd call it getting in character, more like... falling in to another vortex.....

I'll throw some pics up after I get the rest of the lacquer on her.... again, jumped the gun a little by posting it before it was finished....

Sometimes you can't wait due to the excitement. This is just beautiful, Ed. Your craftsmanship is top notch. I'm sure the client will be blown away.

Nice one indeed... BTW.. I'm guessing you have some heat in the shop up in Flowery Branch when I wake up to 12* degree's down the street. I've got a space heater running on natural gas but... still too cold for my old tired blood and I'm staying inside.

So... what's next? I suggest there may be a local market for wooden.. thermal lined caskets at the moment. :D

Regards from down the cold highway tween L'ville and Flowery Branch..
