Hi All, What's a good way to install side ball bearing slides? Is there a basic tutorial on this? Where do you mount the slides on the drawers, in the middle or where? How do you figure the spacing between drawers? Thanks!

Alan, if you post this one on the ncwoodworker site, you may find a neighbor who will help you in person. If not, the install sheet in every slide gives you the basics and sets up a bottom edge install. For any other position, just 'move' the bottom up some.

I use this method when I built a rolling tool cabinet. I had more trouble with the side clearance than anything. I had a little over an inch between drawer width and cabinet ID and had to shim the guides out from the case with carsboard shims to get them to work.
If you don't have your guides Woodworkers Hardware has the low end KV slides on sale.

Thanks Charles and Frank, The Kreg jig looks very interesting. But I couldn't see the Shop Notes video. You need a subscription I guess. Alan
