Polystyrene, aluminum coated ornaments

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

I did some lasering this Christmas on glass colored ornaments...came out very nice.
Now I have a customer that would like me to laser names on an ornament for Valentines Day.
The material is Polystyrene, aluminum coated red on the outside...is this
something that I can laser or does it have PVC in it???
I did a bit of search but didn't find anything...

Polystyrene is OK to laser, though deep engraving and cutting give disappointing results, it melts and leaves ridges. If I understand your description,l set to barely go through the coating and avoid any depth into the poly.
