I've read a couple of threads on here about the Kobalt system that Lowes sells but it's a little bit of a drive to Lowes from my place so I was wondering if anyone has used the JacPac CO2 system? It looks pretty straightforward, a canister, hose, extra o-rings and a regulator for $109... which is priceless if it means I don't have to drag 75' of air hose to get to where I am working just to pin nail some trim.

The Kobalt is the same system as the JacPac. It's just rebranded as far as I know. They work well -- particularly for your stated use.

I considered the Jacpac but went with the Palmgren Hipshot for $50. Cordless portable compressor and it does what I want for a cheap price. See amazon...

Unless you live close to a paintball range, refilling the CO2 systems is kind of a pain.
If you do live close to a paintball range, you might think about just cobbling together a CO2 system using paintball regulators and tanks.
