Number of carbide inserts on spiral cutterhead

Does anyone know the numbers of cutters on an 8"/12"16" spiral cutter head?I'm thinking Byrd,Grizzly,Laguna,and whoever else makes one.Their seems to be big difference in cutterhead price and insert price.Are any of the inserts able to bolt on another cutterhead? What have you been paying for the inserts? Are their any available aftermarket?

The number of cutters varies with the manufacturer. Generally the more expensive the head the more cutters and the better the cut. The spiral heads that I have came with a number of replacement cutters as part of the deal.
