Hi Everyone
Happy 2010 I have a question. I have a customer who wants some knife blades cermarked. The question is will the cermark hold up to the blade being forged or should it be cermarked after ,as the last step. The reason for asking the customer lives in the other side of the state but the company that is cutting the blades out is across the street from my place. So instead of two trips. I pick them up from the cutter and mark them and send them to him ,but if they still need to be forged I'm not sure the Cermark will hold up.

Thanks in advance.

Even if it survives the forging (unlikely), it won't survive the grinding and polishing that follows.

The heating won't be a problem, but the shaping/polishing is going to destroy it...

Ah, Lee beat me to it...
