This was another Christmas project for my mother, a small curio bench that she uses to display some of her antique Crummles boxes.

The bench is made from Cherry, with a BLO and sprayed lacquer finish. It stands 22 inches high and is 24 inches wide by 14 inches deep. The size and shape of the bench was dictated by its intended location in the living room.

The thing I like the best about this project was the beveled glass, which I think gives the bench a nice, elegant look. Its hard to tell from the pictures, but the glass really seems to add just the right touch or feel to the piece.

Nice work.. I like how you divided the sides to reflect the depth of the inner box as one and the addition of an apron below...

Nice work, and beautiful wood! Interesting collection that your Mom has, as well. You are right on the beveled glass - it makes this piece. Good choice.

Nice work. The cherry is a great contrasting color to the display. Really frames it well.
