Just curious if others subscribe to Patrick Leach's monthly tool list?

It is an informative resource on old tools if one can resist buying every deal offered.

I do. So far I haven't bought anything from him yet, but I love the tool of the month section. Interesting tool every month and interesting comments. I think it is a hand tool aficionado's must receive list, whether you buy it or just drool over some of the tools.

Yep, and it's interesting that the list isn't even a complete inventory. About a year ago he had a Record 043 on the list that sold before I could inquire about it; he mentioned that he had a couple of Rapier 043s available (they weren't listed that month). I bought one and have been very pleased with it. I didn't hesitate to do business with him - his excellent reputation gave me the confidence.

+1 on the reputation.
I have bought saws from him and they were as described.

+2 on the reputation and service from Patrick. I have done business with him perhaps three times, and have never been disappointed. You can probably get a lower price if you have time to wait and work the flea markets, but he is fair, honest, and knowledgeable. He has an amazing inventory.

With Patrick you know you will be getting an item exactly as he describes it at a fair price and fast service.
He is a first class seller with amazing tool knowledge.

If it's not on his list...email him. He seems to always have one.

I had a similar experience where I missed out on a #54 spokeshave -- but he looked around and got me a great #53 which was higher on my wish list. Good person to deal with. I've bought a few times and have been happy with the service. The beauty of guys like him and Sandy Moss is the stuff is as described and if there ever was an issue they'd make it right.

Yep, I've bought from Patrick as well. Was thinking about that set of vintage carpenter books today, but then got busy.

Yes, I have for a number of years. I have also purchased quite a few items from Patrick over the years, and have met up with him over the years at a number of shows. He's a stand-up guy, and knows his tools. His prices may not be the cheapest, but you can be sure what you buy is the real McCoy.

I just ordered the cast iron stuffed mallet from this month's list! Pre-gloat :)!
