I need to resharpen the blade of my Veritas Cabinet Scraper which I haven't used in some time. It came with instructions on sharpening but I seem to have lost it and I've forgotten how. The blade is too thin for me to accurately measure the bevel. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks.

The website says both sides are beveled to 45 deg.

If you click on the "Instr" link near the item price on this page, you can read the manual.

I have a #80 Stanley, and make my angle 45 degrees. I have read several articles which say anywhere from 30-45, so I guess it's whatever works best for you.

I use my Veritas MkII honing guide to sharpen the blade. It will fit, but it is tight. If you don't have one, I highly recommend it. It is great for chisels and hand plane blades.
