First time for turning Manzanita Root. Turned very easy considering the voids. Added a little root to the finial as well. Measures all of 3" diameter x 4-1/2" to the top of the finial. All comments/critiques welcome. Thanks for looking.

Wow! Always a pleasure to see your work! Great form, beautiful wood and finish! Your finial is amazing and I really like the extra effort of matching the root in the finial to the shape of the HF! Nice touch!
Beautiful work! Thanks for sharing!

That's very nice. I like the fact that the darker areas of the finial match the shadows seen in the voids. I love it.

Excellent!
You took a great piece of wood and let out a delightful hollow form...
And the finial is sweet!

Beautiful piece Keith. Max. dia. of the finial bulb looks just a tad too large for a smooth flow. Trying to learn, so will be interested in others' comments.

Keith,
I really like that. The way the bead/bulb mimics the hf is outstanding.
Very nice.Roy

It's done with 3 pieces. First I turn the lid and drill a 1/8" hole in the top. Then I turn the "bead", drill a 1/8" hole in the top and a 1/8" tennon on the bottom. Then turn the finial with a 1/8" tennon on the bottom. Then glue them together.
