Looking to make some flowers for the wife like Toney Robertson (sp?) made and posted previously, except I want them to look like daffodils. I have the design I like but am deciding on wood. Any yellow wood recommendations... osage, canarywood? Or should I use a light-colored wood and dye them? How about turning something green that distorts and the letting it dry and warp some to add flow to them? Ideas?

Thanks,

Yellowheart would be a good choice.

Both of the wood you mentioned would be fine, but I think you'll get a better color approximation with holly or maple and dye. Redbud is also a beautiful yellow color but cracks quite easily.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

+1 on the choice of Yellow heart. It turns nice. Just one caution on Yellow heart.... Watch the slivers. They are nasty, and will get infected! They are also hard to remove.
