Happy New year everyone.
Can anyone offer any advise as to what is the best finish for a new Sjoberg Nordic 1450 bench top? I was thinking several coats of Danish oil.
Any advise welcome.

Woodsmith had a homemade finish of blo, beeswax, and turpentine (I think that's the mix) for their workbench...

50/50 pure tongue oil with varnish, no more than two coats. The idea is to seal the top to keep it clean but not have a film for parts to slip around on. Oil finishes are easy to renew later on, adding wax to the equation can complicate that since you will probably want to clean it up and put on another coat some day.

Don't be afraid to mess up your finish too while using it. Its a work bench after all and it should look like one after you make some stuff on it.
