My heretofore reliable shop-vac decided that it would not turn on this evening. This is the model with the green and red "push" switch. The switch doesn't seem to be activating anything when pushed. Is it dead? Or is there a fix for this? I don't see any easy way to get into the casing to check further. Any ideas other than a very unwanted trip to Lowes? Thanks

If your vacuum is actually a Shop-Vac, the company has pretty good customer service. My new Shop-Vac had a switch problem. I called them and they sent me a brand new motor assy. I don't know how long you've had your vacuum(the warranty on mine is 3 years) but I would give them a calland tell them about your problem.Let them know that your vac is your go-to machine and up to this time has always done the job. Maybe they'll give you a new motor assy!

PS - There was nothing wrong with the original motor, it was just the switch, so I have a spare motor assy. if my new motor ever craps out. Lot's of luck
