I recently purchased a couple of stems and both curved toolrests that make up part of the Sorby Modular toolrest system. I am wanting to replace the stock, straight rests that came with both my Jet's. Do any of you use the Sorby system and if you do, what is your opinion of the straight rests? Any votes for OneWay toolrests, or others? Thanks for your opinions.

Mike,

I have and use the Sorby modular rest system. It works great. I bought it when I was turning on a Jet VS Mini. When I upgraded to a PM3520B, I just bought a new center post and continued on my way.

One place you might check for prices is

No relationship with them other than just being a happy customer.

Mike I have the Jet 1220VS and bought a modular rest to augment/replace the factory system. I found that the 1" dia rest put the tool too far away from the work in many cases and recently bought two of the robust rests. I bought the short and long versions and will buy the middle length one and wish I had bought them first.

+1 Robust. The best in my book.
