I'm a not so proud owner of a G0462. The tool rest assembly is a three piece articulating assembly. I can use it with just two pieces but then it won't adjust quite high enough or extend out far enough for some pieces. I was wondering if anyone has replaced this assembly with something better. I guess I have a low agervation tolerance.

Could you weld yourself a new tool rest with a longer post? Would that work?

Jim that would work for the height part but the piece that attaches to the rails is only 9" long so I get 6 or 7 inches off set. I'm thinking about welding up something but so far don't have a workable plan. Would rather just buy something that will work.
