pen and letter opener display

i made my dad a pen and letter opener. is there some simple attractive way to make some kind of holder/display for them to keep them in on desk and make it easy to use them?

I have seen a number of different ways to display a set - one version would be a chunk of wood, natural edge, sanded smooth on top with just a couple of holes drilled in to hold the set. I am sure you'll come up with something nice!

I sell them in a set and put both items in a gift box. I get nice gift boxes from Penn State Industries.
