View Full Version : Truing a brad point bit?

I have a 33/64" brad point bit where the brad point is a little off-center. So when using it in a drill press the stock I'm drilling shakes. Once the spurs of the bit are in the wood, the shaking stops.

It isn't terrible. I have other bits that do the same thing. Asian import bits. My U.S. and German-made bits don't exhibit this behavior.

I was thinking, though, that there has to be a way to fix this with the bit chucked up in the drill press.

It seems like a jig is in order.

I thought I'd ask if anyone has seen anything before I start reinventing the wheel?
