I am considering a used dremel 1830 scroll saw selling for $75 in good condition.I will be useing it for hobby work.Any recomendations apreciated.Thanks

Of the "low end" scroll saws, I find Dremel to be one of the better ones, better than Craftsman, newer Delta, Grizzly, Ryobi, etc. The next step up would be a "mid-range" scroll saw, which would be the DeWalt. From there the "high-end" machines from Excaliber, Eclipse, Hegner, RBI, etc.
My Dad has the Dremmel, I have used it a bit and it is OK. For someone just getting scrolling it would be fine, but as your interest and skills improve you will likely find yourself wanting for more.
