Hi,

I've got a full size (10' diameter) antique water pumping windmill with redwood and cypress panels. It will spend 95% of its time inside a museum but may be setup outside on occasion. I'd like to preserve the light color of the cypress and was thinking about a deck type sealer but I see that even some of the "clear" ones darken the wood a little. Some are linseed oil based and that is why I suppose? I'd like to be able to spray on with a deck/weed sprayer and have it penetrate. I also have an HVLP but this is not fine furniture. I'm just looking to prevent graying and preserve the current look. Does anyone have recommendations for an indoor/outdoor clear treatment? I have been reading this forum awhile and really like it

Nobody has used a clear waterproofers/sealers? What would leave the most natural look? Please chime in if you have any thoughts.
