I received a bushing set for Christmas as a gift (along with the colt router) as they said it was suggested as a common accessory for that item upon checkout on amazon. I understand how it slips in but because its serrated and punched it doesn't sit flat - so when you install between the oversize/square plates and the base of the cast router base it doesn't sit flat. If you screw the plate on over it it just bows the base. I couldn't think of any sensible way to get it to work and gave up and just ended up using some Porter Cable bushings with the locking collar that goes on the inside (a much better design than the bosch ones IMO) and they worked fine. Has anyone used this set and if you have, have you had any success with it?

Thanks!

I believe you need an additional base to use those.

The bushing set that you show is for the bigger routers, there is an adapter that fits to the base and then these bushing just drop in and are held by a lock that is spring loaded.

For the Colt you will need the base that Walter gave the link for and the PC bushings.

Thanks guys I already got them packaged back up to return them. Funny amazon advertises them as an accessory when its not even designed for that router. I was sitting there with the stuff on the bench for 20 mins thinking what gives, there is no way this could work. It has some poor reviews too. I've been using the PC bushings as suggested, a much better design.

At work we have 4 of the Colts but have not tried to set up for bushings yet. I am not at work so I can`t check the instructions but I think I gave the correct base for those guides. There is yet another base listed if you want to use the Porter Cable style screw in bushings. http://www.amazon.com/PR010-Subbase-Threaded-Guides-Routers/dp/B000FF8VQ0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1262537286&sr=8-3

I agree, they are a poor design and I have never used them. I have 2 larger Bosch routers and I use the PC type bushing in them. I do use the adapter but I think Bosch should have just gone with the PC style bushing.
