Anybody see a good price on this lathe? So far all I've seen is $599 plus shipping.

I have done many searches, and that seems to be the standard price. But, let me know if you find a better deal!!! I might be able to be tempted!:D;)

Call Tool Nut. Depending on where you live, you might be able to do about $50 better than the $599. I've been looking at this myself. If you find the best deal, please PM me; I'll do likewise!

Best I saw was Woodcraft had 15% off making it $510 but that was a special they had I think the weekend before Christmas. $599 is the going price I have seen.

I'd be willing to bet that if you walked in to your local Woodcraft (if they have one), and spoke with the manager, he'd give you at least 10% off.

I got mine at Lowes (special order) with one of their 10% off 12 month no interest deals.

When I bought mine last week at Rockler, they were giving a $50 gift card with the purchase. Does not make it cheaper, you can just get more stuff for the price. No matter the price it is worth it, as it is a very nice small lathe, lots of power, smooth and quiet and very well built. I will put mine through some good testing in the days to come.

Thanks guys. I'm still researching this. I'm trying to change lathes due to dissatifaction with my current lathe which is really noisy. I know this really shouldn't matter but it really takes away from the whole turning experience.

I also will be watching. My little grizzly is getting tired and I want something with a little more swing and horsepower. I got the OK to get one, but am trying to get the best deal, cause I have to replace my 1MTgoodies to 2MT.

I have to agree,Toolnut, Sean hooked me up with one at a good price and had it in stock. Woodcraft had to order it and tried to sell me a Rikon, while down talking the Delta. Just ordered the 46-461 chuck from Sean also. This is my first lathe but Toolnuts service is A1 .

The Rockler store in Mesquite, TX had a sale for $509. in October. They ran out and had to order mine.
I think they are back to $599. now.
Have not set it up yet. Shop is too cold for me.

OK, I just bought one from Toolnut:

I paid $682.
Includes the 46-460 lathe + 46-463 bed extension.
That's a delivered price too.

Personally, since this lathe by itself is 17" oc, the extension (which puts it at 42") seems necessary if yr gonna do any kind of spindle work???

I've been nickel-and-diming Sean down for a couple weeks now. If you want this lathe right now, I think it's the best deal out there.

I think the shipping would eat-up the great price at Tool-Nut, at least for me here in Idaho

Bed extensions are $129.99 with free shipping thru 1/3/10 at Rockler.com. That is $20 less than other local sources for me.

Checked it out. It is a better deal at Rockler. CUSA would be a $19 and change discount but shipping would be $19 something. Net result Rockler is $129.99 shipped and CUSA is $130 and change.

I just love the way Rockler advertises free shipping for the Delta lathe when you apply their code. But as you start to buy it suddenly there is a $49 "special shipping" fee. This seems so dishonest to me. So the shipping isn't free is it Rockler! Why do companies play these games?

I looked on craigslist check Gastonia 300.00 might work. While you are buying new tooling you might get 2 2MT X 1MT adapters for the new lathe they can be bought at most wholesale tool places.
