Hi:
A smoother I made for difficult to plane woods
-It is 9" by 2" wide
-Materials: ebony, o-1 steel, 360 brass, aluminum bronze and mild steel
-Blade is 5/16" thick o-1 steel tempered to rc 62 at 55 degrees
-takes a .001 to .002 shaving with no chatter
-sides are through riveted to sole, extremely rigid and perpendicular

thanks, Russ

the three that you have posted so far are works of art. Do you make these for yourself, or do you sell them?

More pictures please, of the build if you have any. Tool question - do you have a well equipped metal shop or did this involve mostly hand work? Either way its beautiful. Scott

That's garbage!!! You really should send it to me for proper disposal :)
Seriously, though, it may be time to quit your day job.
Excellent work.

I'm glad I don't have any tools like that, I'd be afraid to use it for fear of damaging it.
