I was trying to get these done Christmas day as I knew I'd have some free time at last.

African blackwood, sealed with CA and finished with stringed instrument lacquer. I also turned the acrylic front baffles. The original donor phones were Fostex T50RP orthodynamic drivers.

In case you were wondering, the amp is trimmed with macassar ebony.

Gary, please upload your pictures here. I had to remove your links because a pic on the linked page was a bit racy for The Creek.

Now that is something I never would have associated turning with. Nice job too!

Gary, that is a beautiful job!! The wood is gorgeous, and the whole project just speaks quality! Excellent work on the trimming on the amp, too. All of it makes a neat pic!

Gary - very interesting project - nicely done! Have to ask just how heavy does that make the headphones?

Gary that is impressive. I also was going to ask how heavy?

WOW! Nice phones Gary! I'm betting those headphones were weighty to begin with. Good audiophile headphones often are. Superb finish as well, BTW. The amp is amazing. Gotta love those tubes!! I hope one day I can afford some!

Oops, sorry about that. I'll upload the pics directly with some others I made.

*EDIT*

I just looked at my user CP and under 'networking' there is no pictures link to add an album.

ah, all finished. The amp one has some very small turnings like the volume knob surround and blackwood washers under the tube brass bases.

very cool, how are they with holding in sound, and keeping out sound?

Not too bad, they are vented so don't completely isolate but it's still pretty good at keeping sounds in and noise out.

They have a "warm" look to them.
