A Christmas well done!! I see she kept with the McDonald's wrapping color scheme - the red shirt to match the red bow!:D

I hope it was a great surprize for her, especially as hard as you worked at keeping the secret! Merry Christmas...Bill..

Very nicely done, Cliff. A co-worker of mine did something like this for his wife this year. He told his wife she needed a new timing belt on her old camry. Then took it and traded it in toward a BMW 328. She drove his car and he drove hers - keeping it at a friend's house for a couple weeks. I can't wait to see the pics from that "little" surprise.

I'll bet she was happy, but was she surprised or did she already know??? I think I'd be happy too, if you would give me one of those bad boys.

No, it's been on ongoing saga here on keeping it hidden in the shop for the last five weeks.

I told her it was too clumsy to wrap, so I was just going to keep it in the shop. This morning I led her in and told her that it was over by the table (the view was blocked by a pile of boxes). She thought I said *on* the table, so she walks over staring at the tool-covered table, completely missing the lathe five feet away. She walks around the table, looking at it and under the table. At this point, she has her back turned to the lathe just a couple feet behind her! I told her to turn around and then there was dead silence, then a very quiet "Oh my".

I've been waiting weeks to see the end of this, and I have to say this isn't what I expected. I thought that your wife must've known all along. You definitely win serious points for this one. Great job!

Cliff, Since I am here at home taking care of our dogs and my wife is an hour and a half away with our daughter and our new grandson, you have had a pretty great Christmas day! Mine has not been all bad, as a new post soon will explain!

You did a wonderful thing, and should be able to do pretty much anything you want to, for say a week!

Cliff: You should get mega brownie points as well as several good home cooked meals from that wonderful gift. I wish my wife would take up this great hobby, I would buy her a lathe. Anxious to se some of her projects from it. Fred.

Always nice to see the ladies involved in turning. It may not look 'lady like' but would like to see some sort of dust protection for the lungs. anything is better than nothing.[a gentle hint, nothing more] Max

That DC duct will soon be routed to the lathe. But even as it is, it's pulling fine dust over to it.

My guess is she didn't even blink at the new golf clubs that mysteriously appeared under the tree as well.
