Mom wanted something small she could pull up to the front edge of the couch to set a plate or drink on. So I took some measurements and scrounged through my wood stash and came up with some QS spalted sycamore that looked interesting. This was primarily a BS and handplanes project. The legs are 3 pcs each - 2 pcs beveled at 45 where they form the OS corners then a filler piece in back that was partially cut down when forming the tapers. Legs meet the top at 10 deg's with a couple of wedged purpleheart dowels through the top and into the legs.
BLO then 2 coats of Zinser SealCoate then Target WB lacquer for the finish.

Just in time for Christmas.

Nice work, Doug!! That sycamore is beautiful, and certainly fits the style of the table. The contrast on the wedged tenons looks nice.

Very nice Doug. I like the grain on the top much....
