I picked up the lumber for my project last week, some cherry. It is a small clock, the case of it is all 5/8th inch thick with a top of 1 1/2 inch thich. The top is 6 1/2 inches x 12 inches long and it calls for it to just be glued to the base of the case which is the 5/8th cherry.
My question is, all of the stock for the 5/8th cherry was kilne dried and the guy at the lumber place told me the 1 1/2 thick lumber was air dried. Will this cause a problem if I just glue it ontop of the kilne dried stock?
Would it be better to screw it from the bottom with holes in the thinner stock big enough it could move a bit if it had to?
Thank you
